What is Basal Body Temperature (BBT)?

The Basal Body Temperature (BBT) is the body temperature measured just after you wake up. From the menstruation to the next one, BBT will shift from low to high phase at the ovulation day (around middle in cycle) which is the most fertile day. The BBT of a woman who is ovulating regularly has a certain rhythym, and from the menstruation to the ovulation, it goes through low phase. The BBT will rise up to 0.3C-0.5C and shift to the high phase at the ovulation. And after two weeks it again shifts down to the low phase and menstruation will come. In general, the menstruation comes every 28-30 days.

Three points on BBT measurememt:

point-1
You must not always take temperature in the morning. It's OK to measure after approx. 6 hours sleep.
point-2
DO NOT rise up on the bed! NEVER move before completion of measuring.
point-3
The BBT is very sensitive. As the change of temperature is very slight, a normal clinical(fever) thermometer is not accurate enough!
